AQHA youth exhibitor RJ Jacobs had quite a busy morning at the 2013 AQHYA World Show competing in the 2-Year-Old Geldings and Aged Mares with only a class’s rest in between. Despite the tight schedule, all the hard work paid off, and he concluded the day by winning World Championship titles in both classes.

“You have to watch out because they will move their feet more [than an older horse] and sometimes they’ll get spunkier.”

Today’s events provided somewhat of a déjà vu moment for Brown as she found herself once again with the highest preliminary score going into the finals. She was in the same situation at the 2012 AQHYA World Show, but unfortunately, those finals concluded with a less than storybook ending.

“He’s a home-bred,” she says. “So he’s very, very special to us. He’s my favorite horse in the barn. I like going into his stall and playing with him. My Dad showed his mom and won with his mom at the World Show.”

“[I was a] little bit nervous,” Castle says. “You know how when you walk in you get a little antsy? But after that I just showed how I know how to show and it was fine.”

This morning, Alexandria “Lexi” Tan led Oh So Righteous to a World Championship win in Yearling Fillies at the 2013 AQHYA World Show in Oklahoma City. Oh So Righteous is a chestnut mare by Righteous Mister and out of Fancy Me A Cool Kid, by Im Kiddin.
