Top Stallion Owners, Distinguished Service Award Winner, and More to be Honored at 2018 APHA Ceremony

A new award, the Top Stallion Owner awards will recognize the Top 10 stallion owners, based on mares bred by their stallions in 2016 according to APHA stallion breeding reports. No. 1 on this year’s list is Arcese Quarter Horses USA of Weatherford, Texas, who had two stallions that bred a total of 290 mares in 2016. Their top breeding stallion is Gunnatrashya, a 2006 sorrel solid stallion by Colonels Smokingun and out of Natrasha. A Million Dollar Sire with the National Reining Horse Association, Gunnatrashya bred 288 mares in 2016.

Recently, An Equine Production hosted the C Bar C Winner Circuit, January 25-28 in Cloverdale, Indiana. With a new schedule for the four day, six judge show, show management reported roughly 3,700 entries. Rock My Motion – (automatically inducted) 2010 gelding bred by Leigh Ann Bruno of Moreno Valley, California, currently owned by Jordan Semmelmeyer of Corona Del Mar, California.
In the March/April 2017 edition, The Equine Chronicle wrote a story about Rock My Motion and his unique ability to cross over from ApHC to AQHA competition when he became the first color horse to win a title at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in 2015. Click here to read.
