Over the weekend, we learned that one of our dear friends in the equine industry is in need of prayers, encouragement, and love during her time of need. As many of our readers will know, longtime horse trainer Suzetta Busby has been waging a valiant battle against cancer. However, after recent consultation with her doctors, the decision has been made to allow Busby to return home under the care of Hospice.
For obvious reasons, Suzetta will no longer be checking her messages on Facebook. However, if you’d like to send a card, please send a private message to Carly Veldman Parks on Facebook, and she will provide a mailing address. We will not be posting the address here, due to our respect for her privacy.
Special thanks to Mary Malsch for sharing some wonderful photos of her family’s time spent with Suzetta. So many others in the industry such as the Kroenke family, Adelia Nettelblad, the Hawkins family, Melissa and Crystal Busch, Darcy and Judy Coffel, Krisi Ciborowski, Paula Diehl, Lana Wirsig, Shannon Paxton, the Mead family, Carly Veldman- Parks, Sandy Loyal, Cassa Rooney, and countless others have benefited from Suzetta’s professional expertise, guidance, and friendship.
Nearly ten years ago, The Equine Chronicle published an article about Suzetta’s upbringing and evolution in the horse industry. If you’d like to find out more about a woman who has had an impact on so many lives, click on the link below.
Suzetta Busby- Reeling in the Years… and the Rewards– Equine Chronicle Jan. 2004
“There have been so many outstanding Youths and Amateurs over the years, I hesitate to mention names because there are some I know I will leave out. I love working with the kids and amateurs, helping them reach their goals, and I get as much satisfaction from their successes as they do.”- Suzetta Busby
Our prayers go out to Suzetta’s friends and family during this difficult time.
