Open Barrel Race at AQHA Youth World Show

This year, there’s even more fun to be had at the Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show. A $3,000-added open 5D barrel race, open to anyone, is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, August 4, in Barn 8 at State Fair Park.

Produced by Tri K Barrels, the race will include a $2,500-added open 5D race, a $500-added AQHA side pot and a variety of AQHA-approved classes, including senior, junior, youth, amateur and Select amateur barrel racing. The race is sanctioned by AQHA, Better Barrel Races, the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association and the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association.

To be eligible for the AQHA side pot, a rider must be enterd in the open 5-D and be a current AQHA member riding a registered American Quarter Horse. Riders do not have to be entered in AQHA classes to be eligible for the side pot. If you don’t have an AQHA membership or you need to renew, an AQHA representative will be on site to help you.
