In a sad story coming out of Muskogee County, Oklahoma, dozens of horses and cattle have been found dead on a ranch located just south of Haskell. According to Oklahoma-based News On 6, deputies spent the weekend sifting through animal remains and trying to determine how many of those found alive may have a fighting chance.
Deputies arrested the property owner Dan McWilliams. Currently, local officials are working to move the hundreds of live animals still on the property.
The Muskogee Phoenix reports that McWilliams was charged with 23 counts of animal cruelty and released on a $25,033 bond. He is set to return to court on Feb. 24th.
