NSBYA will once again host a letter writing campaign for Operation Gratitude at various shows in 2018. Operation Gratitude sends care packages to troops serving all over the world. Their mission is to lift the spirits and meet the evolving needs of Military and First Responders and express appreciation to all who serve our nation.
Every Operation Gratitude Care Package includes a bundle of letters from the American people, thanking Troops, Veterans, New Recruits, or First Responders for their service to our country. Care Package recipients tell us these letters, notes, and drawings are the most cherished items in their box.
Writing letters is super simple and NSBYA will have all the tools you need, a pencil and a postcard. Letters should express thanks for their selfless service and say a little about yourself, what you do, hobbies and interests you may have. The youth will collect the letters and send them to the program headquarters for inclusion with the care packages. You can write as many letters as you like. This year the NSBYA hopes to collect 750 letters to send to troops in 2018.
At any time, you can write a letter and send it to the NSBA office to be included in the drive. The NSBYA thank you for your help in this campaign.
Upcoming Operation Gratitude Stations
The NSBYA will have tables at events and shows through out the year for you to write letters. Interested in setting up a table at an event you are attending? Please let us know the date and location and we will include in an upcoming newsletter. Email nsbayouth@nsba.com
Operation Gratitude sends 200,000+ Care Packages each year to Deployed Troops, Veterans, New Recruits, First Responders, & Wounded Warriors. Of all the items included in these packages, the most cherished are the personal letters of appreciation! Their goal is to include several letters and colorful drawings in every Care Package and tell our heroes “WE CARE!” Beanie Babies are collected and sent as soldiers use these to give to children they encounter.
