The National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA) in support of the NSBA Foundation has announced the transition of the Susan Scott Memorial Scholarship to the Susan Scott Memorial Fund. The Susan Scott Memorial Fund quickly outgrew the original scope of the Susan Scott Memorial Scholarship with a tremendous display of support from the show horse community.
The memorial auction of Susan Scott’s custom Harris saddle and generosity of donors from the community have created funding that will allow the NSBA Foundation to fund a yearly anticipated $4,000 scholarship for the Youth of the Year Award recipient and other programs that meet the goals of the Foundation in the name of Susan Scott.
The scholarship resulting from the fund will benefit the recipient Youth of the Year Award, which is presented annually by the NSBA Foundation to a youth who has gone above and beyond to exhibit exemplary character in helping others through community service. The formation of this scholarship will enrich the future of the equine industry by providing educational opportunities to the next generation and rewarding community service.
Applications for the 2021 Youth of the Year Award are currently available at nsba.com/youth. Deadline for submission is June 1, 2021.
