The “not so little” Little Buckeye held in Wilmington, Ohio, at the beautiful World Equestrian Center, did not disappoint offering three sets of AQHA points and 1 set of NSBA points. The Ohio Amateur Association, along with their many sponsors, made it possible for all youth entries to be completely FREE! They had a strong focus on the rookie and level 1 exhibitors, and the exhibitors showed up in force with 30+ entries in Rookie Horsemanship and 15+ Rookie Youth Hunter Under Saddle riders.
The Little Buckeye hosted “Pizza with Justin,” which was a huge success. Newly hired AQHA Manager of Shows, Justin Billings, answered questions and mingled with exhibitors while everyone enjoyed pizza and beverages. The show also awarded several random drawings for Ohio Quarter Horse vouchers.
The largest classes included 30+ entries in Level 1 Trail, 40 in Amateur Showmanship, 44 in Youth 14-18 Horsemanship, 39 in Amateur Horsemanship, 20 in Senior Western Pleasure, and 25 in Level 1 Western Pleasure.
The Ohio Amateur Association is hosting the Buckeye Open Charity Golf Outing on Monday, July 17th, and will be held at Snow Hill Country Club in New Vienna, Ohio. The Buckeye Classic begins tomorrow, Tuesday July 18th, with NSBA Day, which offers several Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, and Trail classes. Then, the AQHA portion begins on Wednesday, July 19th.
