Social media has revolutionized how information gets to us. It allows us to consume information at a vast rate, and in turn, we’ve become connoisseurs of that information. The equestrian world has embraced this new media phenomenon. Horsepeople are using social media to keep themselves up-to-date with news, getting the latest offers from their favorite brands and discovering new ways of working. This sharing of information is helping to grow participation and strengthen the industry.
The Equestrian Social Media Awards team is helping with a BSc Honors Equine Management degree dissertation, being researched by a student from CAFRE Enniskillen Campus in Northern Ireland. The dissertation is an investigation into social media’s benefits for equestrian businesses, and seeks to uncover the truth about social media’s impact on the equestrian industry.
The research looks at how people use social media. From a business’ point of view, its impact on sales, customer service and brand awareness. From a consumer’s point of view, to find out which are of most value e.g. offers, competitions and their connection with a brand. The research asks the questions everyone’s been seeking the answers for and will shed light on the real benefits of social media.
There are two surveys to choose from, depending on whether you work in the equestrian field or not. Each survey takes no longer than ten minutes to complete. The survey closes at midnight (GMT) on 31st January 2014. A detailed report of the findings will be available through the Equestrian Creative Network.
