AQHA competitors arrived in droves at the Lancaster Event Center in Lincoln, Nebraska, June 15-17 for the Nebraska Cornhusker Classic. But, there wasn’t a lot of corn husking going on at this particular event. Instead, top horse and rider teams from across the country competed in a full schedule of classes and NSBA added money events judged by Kendra Weis, Terry Cross, Jessica Gilliam, Beckey Schooler, Brad Kearns, and Dean Bogart.
But the show isn’t over just yet. The Cornhusker continues with performance classes, today and tomorrow, and roping classes will take place July 21st-24th.
Some of the classes have been so large that splits and finals have been required. Check out some of the largest classes sizes recorded over the weekend.
The social events kicked off Saturday, June 16th with a Welcome Party, sponsored by the Lancaster Event Center, where Boiler Brewing Company provided samples of some tasty microbrews. Adult libations were also offered on Sunday during the Wine Tasting with James Arthur Vineyards, sponsored by Stride Animal Health. In addition, exhibitors were invited to start off the day with a bloody mary or mimosa, compliments of Brickham QH LLC and Willybeuptonogood.
Over the weekend, several happy competitors were the recipients of Equine Chronicle Bucks- $500 in daily cash giveaways that were presented randomly in weekend classes and will continue today and tomorrow!
