WACO, Texas – Dartmouth College has announced its equestrian program will participate in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association beginning in the 2021-22 season.

“We are quite excited to welcome Dartmouth College to the NCEA,” Dr. Leah Fiorentino, NCEA Executive Director said. “Dartmouth has secured a strong foothold on collegiate equestrian performances for many years and we are sure Dartmouth will be a formidable competitor in the 2021-22 season. Student-athletes looking for a NCEA opportunity in the Northeast will enjoy the Dartmouth experience.”

Dartmouth College is a Division I institution located in Hanover, N.H., that competes in the Ivy League.

“The NCEA is comprised of some of the top collegiate riding teams in the country,” head coach Tenley Struhs said. “We are looking forward to the opportunity to compete alongside these schools.”

Dartmouth College has a long-standing tradition of offering a competitive equestrian program. The varsity equestrian team practices at the college-owned riding center, Morton Farm, which was donated in 1974. Situated on nearly 200 acres and just seven miles from main campus, it is the perfect place for the equestrian athletes to train. Dartmouth has had much success competing in the IHSA and within the Ivy League with multiple championship titles.

Dartmouth joins the NCEA as a Single Discipline program and will compete in the ECAC.
