NCEA Announces Riders of the Month- Tritschler, Brayman, Davidson, and Mitchell

WACO, Texas – The National Collegiate Equestrian Association announced its October Riders of the Month on Wednesday, October 31st.

October’s Equifit Equitation on the Flat Rider of the Month goes to Ali Tritschler of University of Georgia.  The junior from Southport, Connecticut defeated her opponents by an average of 10 points this month.  Tritschler is currently undefeated in Equitation on the Flat, with two road wins.  The Bulldog defeated riders of two top 5 opponents and earned MOP honors at home in October.

Abigail Brayman from Oklahoma State takes the October Equifit Equitation Over Fences Rider of the Month award.  Brayman scored a career high 90 en route to MOP honors against No. 1 Auburn.  The sophomore from Charlestown, Rhode Island has not lost a fences competition this season (3-0-1). Brayman has not scored below an 80 this season.  The last time Brayman scored below an 80 in the event was last season in February. The rider scored two points (one in Fences, one in Flat) in OSU’s comeback upset win over No. 3 Baylor.  Her fences point against Baylor started the meet and gave the Cowgirls an early 1-0 lead.

The Shorty’s Horsemanship Rider of the Month is Ashley Davidson, a junior from Burbank, Washington.  Davidson won all three of her points in October, averaging a 75.7.  The Aggie earned her first MOP of the season at South Carolina.

Oklahoma State Cowgirl Hannah Mitchell takes the Shorty’s Reining Rider of the Month award.  The OSU team captain from Cuba, Missouri had the clinching point to complete the comeback upset of No. 3 Baylor.  Mitchell is undefeated on the season (3–0-1) and collected her 24th career Reining point against Georgia.
