Markel Insurance Breeders Championship Futurity Yearling Sale

The 2024 National Snaffle Bit Association’s annual NSBA Markel Insurance Breeders Championship Futurity Yearling Sale saw 104 yearlings pass through the sale. The gross sales on the yearlings that went through the sale ring were $1,819,000, providing consignors with a sale average of $17,490 per head. The top ten sale average was $56,920 and the top 20 sale average was $44,335.
The NSBA Markel Insurance Breeders Championship Futurity Yearling Sale generated an estimated $186,622.50 that will be set aside for sale graduates who will compete as two-year-olds in 2025 in a designated Breeders Championship Futurity two-year-old class or as three-year olds in 2026 in a designated Breeders Championship Futurity three-year-old class. The Sale Graduate purse is in addition to NSBA’s Breeders Championship Futurity and Color Breeders Championship Futurity payouts that are provided in each BCF and Color BCF class.
High Selling Mare – Extremely Snappy, a filly by The Extreme Machine and out of Snap It Send It who was consigned by Kent Ray Taylor and sold for $100,000.
High Selling Gelding – Key Stone Lite, a gelding by Madefourit and out of Hot N Classy Asset, who was consigned by Bob & Kathie Kennedy and sold for $62,000.
High Selling Stallion – Made To Be, a colt by Machine Made and out of Southern Sweetie Pie, who was consigned by Cindy McCraw/Riverside Ranch and sold for $42,000.
High Selling Hunt Seat – GTG Hold My Beer, a gelding by VS Good Ride and out of Krymsun Delight, who was consigned by Angela Dehse and sold for $36,500.

The Markel Insurance Breeder Championship Futurity Yearling Sale is a limited entry consignment sale designed to bring many of the nation’s top yearlings to public sale. The sale is only open to yearlings enrolled in the NSBA Breeders Championship Futurity or NSBA Color Breeders Championship Futurity and is held in conjunction with the NSBA World Championship Show each year.
