Some of the finest Halter Horse breeders, trainers, exhibitors, and, of course, horses, have gathered in Des Moines, Iowa for the 2017 Breeders’ Halter Futurity that kicks off today and will continue through Sept. 17th. Judges for the show will be Jon Barry, John Boxell, Steve Ferguson, Clint Fullerton, John Lawrence, and Carl Yamber.
We’re already receiving results from the first classes of the day and the winner of the BHF Junior Weanling Colts and Geldings is Monte Horn with Fortunette for William Doyle and Felisha Ware. The Reserve Champion was Kimberly Anding with On EZ Street for Kim and Jason Anding. Third was Mark Niebrugge with Citacion; this was also the highest placing Owner/Breeder/Exhibitor team.

A total of $20,000 will be paid out to foals competing in Amateur Weanling Stallions, Amateur Weanling Mares, Amateur Weanling Geldings, Amateur Solid Paint Bred Weanling Stallions and Geldings, and Amateur Solid Paint Bred Weanling Mares.
