Earlier this spring, the AQHA Executive Committee waived the qualification requirements for the 2020 AQHA World Championship Show due to effects of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic on the showing industry. Exhibitors and their American Quarter Horses will still need to meet Level 3, Level 2 and Level 1 eligibility requirements to compete at this year’s show. AQHA has released the list of open and amateur exhibitors who are ineligible to enter and show horses in the Adequan® Level 2 Championships at the 2020 AQHA World Show, tentatively scheduled for November 5-21 at OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.
The horsemen and -women on this list are competitors who have proven their skills in the show pen and are considered highly accomplished competitors by AQHA and its alliance partners. This list is compiled by factoring in AQHA points, championship titles and alliance money earned outside of AQHA competition. At the direction of AQHA’s leveling task force, more detailed information has been provided within the list regarding specific earnings restrictions from each alliance partner.
“Like many of our alliance partners, we believe in the concept behind leveling that helps create a fair playing field for exhibitors to compete against others of similar experience,” said Justin Billings, AQHA chief show officer. “By combining alliance and AQHA data, we can better protect the integrity of the Adequan® Level 2 Championships at the AQHA World Show.”
