Justin Wheeler of Marble Falls, Texas showed the home-bred 4-year-old mare, Indefinately Flashy, to a win this afternoon in the 3 and 4-Year-Old Signature Trail at the 2014 Reichert Celebration. Wheeler was in the saddle for Linda Eppes and Stephanie Black of Seven Bar Quarter Horses.
“Prada” was purchased through the Reichert Celebration Sale, so she is also eligible to compete in the 3 and 4-Year-Old Open Trail Stakes tomorrow.
“I showed her here, last year, in the class, and she was second,” Wheeler says. “I’ve been doing trail with her for about a year. She was really good today. Her right lead lope-overs and her left lead lope-overs were probably the best parts, but she did everything else really well. She didn’t touch a pole out there, and she showed pretty good for me.”
Prada, like most Seven Bar Quarter Horses, is by the farm’s stallion, Indefinate, a 2001 AQHA sire by Zippos Old Gold and out of Mananas Mystique.
“We brought her dad and three other horses to the Reichert,” he says. “One will show in the stakes class tomorrow and is a three-year-old. The other horse is a five-year-old that I showed in the stakes class last year. All of them do trail. They all have the personality of their father. They’re all very close in that aspect.”
“Since the first day I took Prada over a pole, she has looked at them and paid attention to them. It’s been her class. She acts like she’s been doing it all her life. She’s just a naturally talented horse and has always been that way.”
The Reserve Champion in the class was Lisa Farrell aboard A Moonlite Moon for Jo Ann Farrell. The pair took home a check for $182. The winner of the Signature Non Pro Trail class was Sadie Amore Deflippo with Duies Creditor.
