In a much-anticipated L3 Senior Western Riding Finals on Friday, November 18th, Jason Martin won the 18th Senior Western riding World Championship for Highpoint Performance Horses.
Jason and Hez Blazin Trouble secured the Championship with a score of 247 in the final round with 15 horses after making it through the prelims earlier in the show with 34 other teams. He also showed Zippin A Breeze to a 4th place title for owner Susan Wilson.
Jason says it was a lot of pressure to win because of the streak they have going. “I’m glad I didn’t make a mistake, and I’m glad it’s over!” he says. When asked why Western Riding has been such a point of excelling for Highpoint, he says he’s not sure, but he does know his background in 3-Day Eventing and Dressage that taught him timing that might be a factor. “It’s all about timing, and because of all our customers who allow us to have great horses.”
