Jacobs and Doodle Jump Win 2015 AQHYA Hunter Under Saddle, Vargo and Art of the Deal Win Equitation

The Final two English Performance classes of the 2015 AQHA Youth World Show are complete. Jenna Jacobs concluded her final appearance at the Youth World by being named the World Champion with Doodle Jump. Believe it or not, this is the team’s first time winning a globe at the AQHA Youth World.

Jacobs and Doodle Jump have been a pair for just two years now. They have three Reserve Congress Champion titles and an NSBA World Championship, but this golden globe means something special to Piper.

“Oh my gosh, I started crying!” she says. “I felt so sick. Once they started getting to the top ten, you just never know. I was so confident in my ride, but it’s the judge opinion. I remember during every single placing just squeezing my eyes shut and praying to God.”

“Then, when I got to the top three, I knew I got a globe! You can’t argue with a globe! Then, they called my number and words can’t describe what I felt…”

Although Jacobs wasn’t sure how the final placings would shake out, she had no doubts about the quality of her ride. “He was such a good boy. He absolutely loves showing. I don’t think we’ve have a bad ride in Hunter Under Saddle, knock on wood.”

“He knows his job. I think you could send him out there without a rider. He loves the show pen. He will put his ears ups, and he listens to your leg the whole time. He lets you show the heck out of him, which is so much fun, especially here when you’re anxious, nervous, and excited.”

Now that the Youth World is complete for this duo, Jacobs and Doodle Jump are headed to the NSBA World Championship Show and the All American Quarter Horse Congress. Looking towards the future and their first year of amateur competition, Jacobs hopes to add all-around events to their repertoire. They already compete in Showmanship, Horsemanship, and Equitation.

In Equitation, Natalie Vargo won her second World Championship title of the show with her horse Art of the Deal. Last week, she was named the World Champion in Hunter Hack. The Reserve World Champion in the class was Harley Huff with GW Jack Bar. This pair was named the World Champions in Horsemanship as well.

Coming in third was Rachel Tearney with Midnite Invitation. Fourth place was Madison Eichstadt with It’s My Lucky Detail. Fifth was Paige Stopperich with Cowboys R Hot.
