PHJ press release by: Alannah Castro
Still need to get your entries in for the 2015 Youth World Championship Show? Not a problem, thanks to the quick and easy online entry platform. The system has been updated to allow for post entries. Class entries will also be accepted at the Youth World Show until 5 p.m. the night before the class.
With more than $150,000 offered in scholarships—available in every world championship class—this year’s Youth World Show promises to be one to remember.
Most everyone can use the online entry platform, but there are a few things to know in advance:
Those wishing to enter the following will need to submit traditional entry forms (available on ywcs.apha.com/forms; submit via mail, fax or email) for these particular classes/options:
We suggest you print out your online entry form before it’s submitted for your own records. After your online entry is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email as well as the traditional confirmation letter closer to the show.
Each horse entered will be assessed a one-time $45 administrative fee, regardless of the number of exhibitors or classes entered. APHA checks for duplicity before your credit card is charged. If your entry is eligible for the Flat Fee Discount, it will be applied to your account prior to credit card being processed.
Additional Recommendations
Online entry is simple and easy, though there are some differences from the traditional entry form.
Online entries should be submitted per horse/exhibitor combination; if you’re entering a horse with multiple exhibitors, never fear. Though the online entry system will automatically assess the administration fee for each submission, credit cards are not charged immediately. All entries will be reviewed and processed by APHA staff, and only one administration fee will be charged per horse.
Classes that offer multiple programs and awards such as the intermediate exhibitor division or National Snaffle Bit Association will show multiple options for class entry. To enter a class with multiple options, select the single best choice for your needs. For example, an exhibitor only showing in Youth 14–18 Hunter Under Saddle would select YBH3, while an exhibitor who wants to be eligible for the NSBA dual-approved class in that division would select YBH3+NSBA.
The Youth World Show has something for everyone with nearly 100 classes, more than $150,000 in scholarships, tons of great prizes, parties and lots of exhibitor recognition. Don’t forget about the NSBA Color of Money show, featuring exclusive color-breed-only classes for Youth, Amateur and Open exhibitors June 23–25—it’s the perfect warm-up for your Youth World Show events.
