In Memory of Consummate Horsewoman Daryl Lankin

Memorial Service Update: A memorial service has been set for Monday, December 7th for Daryl Lankin, who  passed away on December 2nd. The service will be held at the Midway Church in Pilot Point, TX at 11 am. Floral arrangements may be sent to Midway Church at 9540 HWY 377 South, Pilot Point, Texas 76258.

A catered Life Celebration in loving memory of Daryl will be held immediately after the service at Bushy Park Farm in Aubrey, Texas.

On the heels of the passing of a great horseman, Jack Brizendine, on November 30th, we are saddened to relay the news of the passing of yet another Halter  industry great, Daryl Lankin the Ranch Manager of Bushy Park Farm Quarter Horses. Daryl passed away very early this morning, December 2nd, 2015, as the result of a very aggressive form of brain cancer.

Daryl was not only instrumental in the daily operations of Bushy Park Farm, she was known for her eye for a good horse, her love of competition, and being behind-the-scenes for many a Bushy Park Farm win.

Daryl’s longtime friend and business partner, Clark Rassi, shared a message about his friend’s passing, wherein he credits much of his success in the industry today to her helping hand and guidance.

“I knew this day would come, about one week ago,” he says. “My dear friend and partner in the horse business, Daryl Lankin, has passed away. It’s been like a 25-year roller coaster ride with never a dull moment. She had a passion and love for horses like no one I have ever known.”

“Daryl’s three obsessions in life were horses, trucks, and the Cowboys. Anyone who knew her was well aware that she spoke her mind freely, and you always knew where she stood on any subject, whether you wanted to or not… A large part of my success in this business is due to her. Daryl had the ability to sell a horse to someone who didn’t even want one! I’m sure that there will never be another character quite like her. May you rest in peace, my sweet friend.”
