In Loving Memory of Scooper Flame (1987-2020)

Affectionately known as “Quincy,” Scooper Flame was owned and loved by Broken K Ranch of Terrell, Texas. He was a regular on the Texas and national Paint Horse circuit, as well as the Pinto circuit.

Quincy was purchased in July of 1998 to be shown by Malarie Kennedy. He was named a multiple Pinto World and Reserve World Champion. In 2002, Malarie and Quincy were named High Point at the PtHA World Show.

In 2003, Quincy was passed down to Malarie’s niece, Savannah Kuppler. The two quickly hit it off. In 2004, at the PtHA World Show, Quincy won High Point Walk Trot as well as Novice Amateur High Point with Savannah’s mom, Dylania. He left Tulsa and headed to the APHA World Show where he received a World Championship in Walk Trot Showmanship with Savannah. He finished the year with numerous awards in Texas as well as Top Twenty in APHA Novice Amateur standings.

Quincy was trained while in Texas by Prim Cockrell, Mike Staples, and Terry Cross, and Stephen Stephens. Quincy lived out his retirement at the family ranch. He never lost his desire to be loved on by the kids and grandkids. Rick Kennedy said that he was still the alpha of the herd on his last earthly day.

“Quincy won so many titles, awards, buckles, ribbons, saddles, and prizes. The greatest award was what he gave to our family… He gave us beauty, laughter, and memories. He was the dream horse of several girls, and there will never be another like him,” says Dylania Kuppler.

Quincy is buried on the family ranch that became his forever home.
