Our deepest condolences go out to Lisa and Mike Wilkes and Parks Show Horses for the loss of Lopin Like No Other, the 2020 AQHA stallion by The Lopin Machine and out of Loping Southern Style.
The Congress Futurity Champion and Reserve Congress Champion was being shown this year in 3 year-old Limited Non Pro Western Pleasure by Lisa and in Open 3 year-old and Junior Western Pleasure with Wade Parks.
“Johnny,” a homebred horse raised by Mike and Lisa, was also recently the 3-Year-Old Limited Non Pro Futurity Champion and Bronze Open Non Pro Champion at The Madness.
“Johnny was a special horse. He was so kind, gentle and talented,” Lisa explains.
On social media, Lisa wrote this touching tribute about Johnny, a horse whose dam she lost not long ago:
“Johnny……you were truly an angel that God sent for us to love and enjoy for a short time. Three years was just not long enough. I have never known a horse let alone a stallion as kind as you with a heart as big as yours. The bond you had with little Caden was amazing…..you melted into his little hugs. You always gave 110% and never complained. Riding you always brought a smile to my face. Everyone who ever had anything to do with you loved you.”
Wade Parks, I can never thank you enough for all you did for Johnny. I know you loved him like I did and Johnny loved you. Wade, he always looked for you and listen for your voice. Johnny, my sweet boy, run free in those green pastures with your dam, Mardi.”
Carly Parks also wrote this tribute online:
“There will never be words to describe the love our family had for this horse. We are so sorry, Lisa and Mike. There will never be another one like him.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with all your families – from our EC family.
“Somewhere … Somewhere in time’s own space, there must be some sweet pastured place. Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow. Some paradise where horses go. For by the love that guides my pen, I know great horses live again.” – Stanley Harrisonour
