In Loving Memory of James Novak (1998-2021)

The equine community is saddened by the loss of a member. James Novak, 23, (1998-2021) passed away unexpectedly in an automobile accident on September 25, 2021. Hailing from Granville, MA, James was a passionate horseman who was known and loved by many in the industry.

James always had a passion for horses, and recently graduated from the University of Findlay’s equine program in 2020. While at UF, he cherished every opportunity to learn and further his skills, no matter the discipline. He embraced learning about everything that he possibly could about horses, giving his all every day.

James was always the kind of horseman that went the extra mile – showing up to ride at 5am before class or staying late to make sure legs were poulticed and wrapped. He was just as kind to his horses as he was to all those who met him.

Though James dabbled in Western all-around events, his true passion was Reining. After graduation, James spent time working as an assistant reining trainer and had dreams of one day creating his own training business.

Anyone who knew James would agree that he had the kindest and most genuine soul. It didn’t matter if he knew you well or not, he was always there to lend a helping hand when needed. He touched the lives of those who met him in countless ways. James will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
