All Of It, also known throughout the industry as ‘Fred the Gentle Giant,” was laid to rest on September 6, 2024.
The 2005 APHA Sorrel Overo Gelding by All Time Fancy and out of Reddy For Josie was owned and loved by Megan East Hogan of Utah. In APHA competition alone, the duo earned two World Championships, three Reserve World Championships, and 493 Hunter Under Saddle Points in the APHA Amateur division, and Fred also won Two World Championships and one Reserve, plus and another 317 points, in APHA Open Hunter Under Saddle.
When his show career was complete, however, he had earned a total of 16 World Championships across associations.
The splashy overo gelding was the perfect combination of kindheartedness and athleticism, so he gained many fans in the Fred Fan Club everywhere he went. To say he was a gentle giant was no exaggeration, since he wore a size 88 blanket and a size 58 English girth (with an extension if needed).
The industry’s heart is mourning for Megan East Hogan, and for the East and Hogan families, and below we’ve shared Megan’s words:
ALL OF IT lovingly known as Fred
4/26/2005-9/6/2024
Yesterday we lost one of the greatest horses I’ve ever had. I’m just so devastated. Fred the gentle giant was more human than anything. One of the kindest and smartest horses I’ve ever been around. He was a total goofball with a heart of pure gold. He brought so many wonderful memories for my family and Michele (Pearson) in his career. He truly was an incredible show horse and finished his career as a 16 time world champion. I feel selfish saying 19 years wasn’t long enough, but it wasn’t he was the best. Grateful to have been a part of his journey because he changed my life forever. – Megan East Hogan.
Somewhere

Somewhere…somewhere in time’s own space
there must be some sweet pastured place.
Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow
some Paradise where horses go.
For by the love that guides my pen
I know great horses live again.
