From WCHA:

I have a few very important items I need to share with you,  I will try to keep as brief as possible but please take few minutes to read through in its entirety.

First of all our new Member Portal is up and running !!!   This portal which is accessible from our World Conformation Home Page is your vehicle to renew memberships,  nominate your horses, and eventually enter your horses in various futurities.   Don’t worry we’ve gone to great lengths to make this a simple process and we’ve provided you a short tutorial of how to get started,  just click on this link: https://members.conformationhorse.com/#/  or go to www.conformationhorse.com and in upper right corner is tab for My Portal.

  1. First of all click “Set Up My Portal-Video”.   This short video will walk you through the process of setting up your account and updating your portal.
  2. Then enter your email address and set up your password.
  3. Your portal will then open and you need to verify your personal information:
  4. Many of your horses will already be in the system, some may still have a name pending.  WE NEED YOU TO VERIFY AND UPDATE YOUR HORSES,  add horses, remove horses you no longer own.
  5. Spelling and date of birth of all of your horses is “critical” that it is accurate !!!!  Please update all horses with pending names.
  6. Renew your membership if you are not a founding or lifetime member before you can nominate horses for 2024.
  7. Start nominating your horses for 2024 into WCHA Breeder’s and Big Money with color if applicable.   When you click on nominate
  8. You can enter secure credit card information or if you prefer to mail a check, your transactions will be pending until we okay your requests from our end.  You can then go in and print membership and nomination forms.

The next important information that I want to share with you: details of our WCHA Supreme Championship Show scheduled for May 9,10,11,12th in Oklahoma City.

  1. The primary reasons of why we are putting this championship show together is:
  • With so much emphasis on our fall futurities and the all the money that can be won for weanlings and yearlings within our WCHA futurities as well as APHA Platinum/Gold in Fort Worth plus the BHF in Iowa our older horses are becoming less valuable or less important commodity and we are seeing the impact at both weekend and world shows in the number of entries.
  • Also…… within AQHA, to “qualify” older horses at weekend shows it’s becoming more and more difficult and you are hauling to shows “hoping” for enough performance horses to gather up grand and reserve points.   To qualify horses in both open and amateur is very challenging and expensive running from show to show.
  • And…….. because there isn’t a “significant event” in the Spring many owners have to justify keeping horses in training after the world shows in the fall and throughout the winter and spring thus creating a hardship for our trainers for year-round stream of training income.
  • Unless you have an older horse that is elite and top contender to “WIN” a world title the value of these older horses diminish with age without significant other events to show within or a means to earn monies as you can with weanlings and yearlings.
  • Finally…….. our halter industry NEEDS a championship show other than breed shows so that our older horses can be showcased,  our halter industry needs to be showcased to attract new participants, thus more clients for our trainers and to increase both value and customers for these older horses !!!

2. So the format of the Supreme Championship Show is as follows:

  • A four judge/four sets of points AQHA show.
  • A four judge/four sets of points APHA show.
  • A four judge/four sets of points ApHC Show
  • Within each class, within each breed we will offer “limited stakes classes” for horses who have not won world or reserve world titles.
  • Within each class we will name a WCHA SUPREME CHAMPION,  this title will be recorded with WCHA and can be both prestigious and help in marketing.  I will be unveiling a new “special trophy” soon !!
  • Because we will be offering purse money for limited horses within each class this will encourage participation and our class numbers/points will be significant !!!

GREEN CLASS FOR YEARLINGS………..

All Breed Stakes Class

Three Yearling Non Pro Classes –  Non Pro  Yr Mares,  Non Pro Yr Geldings, Non Pro Yr Stallions

Horses must be sired by stallions enrolled in the WCHA Breeder’s Futurity Program

All yearlings must also be nominated into WCHA Breeders Futurity Program

  • Horses could not have won a world or reserve world champion title within AQHA, APHA or ApHC in a regular Open or Amateur class. Exceptions are AQHA Level 2 or Solid Breeding Stock class).
  • Horses could not have placed in top 5 within an “open” class at the WCHA Breeder’s Championship Futurity, excluding color/non pro/intermediate placings within that class.
  • Horses could not have placed in the top 5 within the Big Money Futurity, excluding color.
  • Horses could not have placed in top 5 within regular open and regular amateur class at Breeder’s Halter Futurity in Iowa.

These 3 Green Classes will be for non pro exhibitors only, however we will also offer “Limited Stakes Classes” within the Open Yearling Classes.  These SAME horses can compete in the open classes with additional stakes entry fee.

Costs:

This first year the cost to do EVERYTHING we possibly can to make this event “SPECIAL” for everyone attending is critical part of the planning process………. We Need Everyone to help us with fundraising.   Yes, stall and entry fee income will come into play but this first year we can only estimate participation but even with estimations to offer ADDED MONEY in EVERY CLASS we need to raise $100,000 including cost of special trophies and other class awards.

        1. 33 Trainers have agreed to donate a month training to our WCHA TRAINER’s Service Auction to run with Mike Jennings’s Professional Auction On Line sale,  these trainers will be listed soon so PLEASE support both them and our fundraising efforts in this sale,  100% of proceeds will go towards the Supreme Championship Show.
        2. I’ve attached two items to this email to better explain the levels of sponsorships we are requesting,  please review and then reach out and gather up sponsorships for us or pledge your support within one of the levels we are offering.   (some levels include the fall futurities )
        3. All sponsorships will be helpful…… please give what you can.  If you’ve been successful at our fall futurities please consider giving some of that back for seed money so you can win more at the Supreme Championship Show……… we desperately need Partner Level Sponsors.
        4. Social events:    We will have several social events to create a FUN event for everyone…….. if your company/ranch can sponsor an event or help with a joint sponsorship that would be wonderful or if you want to promote your stallion?  (coffee/donut wagon in the mornings,  stall crawl, cocktail parties, etc.)
        5. Vendors……….. we invite vendors to participate,  it can be included in your sponsorship or we will offer a minimal vendor fee.  This could also include Stallion Promotions.
        6. Show Clothes/Tack Sale:   Bring your show clothes that are still nice but you’re wanting to recycle,  boots, hats, halters, blankets, sheets, etc etc.   We will set up an area where all can be offered for sale in a 50-50 split or if you wish to donate 100% !!!!   Again all proceeds go to this show.  Later on we will have a committee in charge of accepting consignments.

Sponsorship Drive:    We are setting up an incentive program to reward members who gather up sponsorships, when you get a sponsor notify me and I will credit that sponsor to you !!   I’ve attached two items to both provide you options of what sponsorship you can personally help in our fundraising or to take with you to reach prospective donors and partners.   Once the drive is underway we’ll do weekly posts on sponsors who have signed on so membership knows your contributions to this great event !!!
