The 2016 APHA World Show promises to be a lucrative one for Platinum Breeders’ Futurity exhibitors. Revamped for 2016, the elite weanling halter futurity caters exclusively to non-pro exhibitors, and with payouts projected to exceed $94,000 this year based on entries, Platinum-enrolled weanlings have the chance to earn big money in Fort Worth.

Estimated class payouts* as of October 13, 2016, are:

  • Platinum Non-Pro Weanling Stallions (Regular Registry, and solid Paints with two Regular Registry Paint parents): $25,604; first place earns $10,241
  • Platinum Non-Pro Weanling Mares (Regular Registry, and solid Paints with two Regular Registry Paint parents): $34,138; first place earns $11,607
  • Platinum Non-Pro Weanling Geldings (Regular Registry, and solid Paints with two Regular Registry Paint parents): $11,379; first place earns $6,827
  • Platinum Non-Pro Weanling Solid Paint-Bred Stallions & Geldings (solid Paints without two Regular Registry Paint parents): $10,160; first place earns $6,096
  • Platinum Non-Pro Weanling Solid Paint-Bred Mares (solid Paints without two Regular Registry Paint parents): $13,547;first place earns $8,128

*APHA reserves the right to add, cancel or combine classes or hold a “class within a class” as entries warrant; estimated class payouts depends on entries

Foals are made eligible for this division by the stallion owner, who paid a $5,000 nomination fee, and the mare owner, who pays a $200 nomination fee (late fees apply). These foals are also eligible to enter the Gold, Silver or Bronze division of the Breeders’ Futurity, provided all requirements, fees and payments are met accordingly.
