The United States Equestrian Team High Performance Reining Committee is hosting an online auction of stallions, training with top trainers and other donated items and services to help with raising funds to send the USA Reining Team to the World Equestrian Games in 2014.

The auction is online now and will conclude at 7 p.m. on December 15, 2013.

The American Quarter Horse Association has played a pivotal role in advancing the sport of reining worldwide, where American Quarter Horses are the preferred breed. Reining is the only western discipline among World Equestrian Game events.

Along with breeding to the reining industry’s stop stallions, the USA Reining Team benefit auction now includes training opportunities with some of the top names in the reining industry. Bidders can buy a month of training and board with superstars such as National Reining Horse Association $5 million rider Shawn Flarida and AQHA Professional Horseman Tim McQuay, who headline an exemplary group of world-class trainers who have donated their time for the cause of sending Team USA to the World Equestrian Games, set August 23 – September 7, 2014 in Normandy, France.

The World Equestrian Games is the most prestigious and competitive international event for reining, and it only comes once every four years. The costs involved in selecting and sending a team to Europe are significant. Besides the horses, veterinarians, riders, chef d’ equipe, grooms and a farrier are all critical members of the delegation that make up Team USA.

Since the United States Equestrian Team does not receive government subsidies, its funding comes primarily through the USET Foundation from individuals and foundations whose interest in and commitment to equestrian sport motivates them to make generous charitable contributions. The proceeds of the USET Reining Stallion Online Auction will go directly to be a part of this total – for the sole purpose of fielding the USA Reining Team at the 2014 WEG.

Visit the online auction site for information on how to donate to the auction or to bid on an available breeding or service and help the USA Reining Team bring home the gold!
