Today’s competition at the 2016 AjPHA Youth World Championship Show has been devoted to the discipline of Halter. Thanks to the generosity of a group of conformation horse enthusiasts that call themselves “The Friends of the Halter Industry,” $45,000 in scholarship money was set to be awarded to lucky youth competitors. World Champions received $1,200 scholarships; Reserve Champions received $1,000 scholarships, and third place received $800 scholarships. Also, scholarship money extended to sixth place! In addition, a special $250 was awarded to the highest placing exhibitor in each class, who competed without a trainer.
Winning the Youth Yearling Geldings class in unanimous fashion was Justin Christensen with Hez Kid Cool. The Reserve Champion was Justin Moody with Securitee Secret. Third place was Raegan Watson with Totally Cool Kid.
Rylan Burns was named the winner of the Youth Yearling Mares class at the lead of I M Addicted. The Reserve Champion was Phillip Groeb with Hot Fire And Style. Third place was Erin Wright with TNR Lovely Intent.
The World Champion in Youth 2-Year-Old Geldings was the adorable Grace Hayslip with Coolest Ambition. The Reserve Champion was Colton Baxley with Heza Fancy Kid. Third place was Cody Dulin with PQ This Kidz Rockin.
Winning the Youth 2-Year-Old Mares class was Phillip Groeb with Red Hot N Stylish. The Reserve Champion was Belle Rotan with KR Lone Star Lola. Third place was Justin Christensen with DWL Annie Oakley.
In the Youth Solid Paint Bred Mares All Ages, the winner was Morgan Deleon with Cl Xceptional Imprint. The Reserve Champion was Sarah Beth Felker with Just As I Expected. Third was Nathan Wright with TNR Dominate Hitter.
In the Youth Solid Paint Bred Geldings All Ages, Justin Boulware was named the World Champion with The Obvious Design. The Reserve World Champion was Colton Baxley with FF Executable. Third place was John Karson Flowers with Chance For Grand.
The Youth Three-Year-Old Mares class was won by Phillip Groeb with RJN Centerfold. The Reserve Champion was Rylan Burns worth Tdkids Chantilly Lace. Third place was Nathan Wright with Marabella.
Winning the Youth Three-Year-Old Geldings class was Bo Yount with Casual Commander. The Reserve Champion was Peyton Hoffpauir with FF Sensational Kid.
A very dapper young man, Nicholas Gralla, led his mare, Skippin Sccool to win a large Youth Aged Mares class of 14 entries. The Reserve Champion was Kristen Easterwood with Classic Ms Chievious. Third place was Erin Wright with Be Envyd. Fourth place was Mikayla Deleon with Miss Passionate Te. Fifth was Justin Moody with Lap Dancin Tees.
In the final Halter class of the day, Youth Aged Geldings, the World Champion was Alexus Cole with RH CK Kid. Kristen Easterwood was named the Reserve World Champion with Mr Swartznager.
