For Georgia Cook, Friday, July 28th at the 2023 AQHYA World Championship Show meant back-to-back wins – first in the L3 Aged Mares with KR Xfiniti, and then in her very next class, L3 Aged Geldings, with Jack E Boy.
We talked to Georgia after her back-to-back wins and she said it felt really exciting, but it was also really nerve-wracking going out there and doing it twice, back-to-back.
When asked about her strategy, she said, “You have to set their feet up, get their ears, make sure their head is high enough, and you have to go out there and do it like you practiced and have fun.”
She adds, “After I get in there, it’s fun, then in the placings, I’m sitting there so nervous.”
Georgia likes her Aged Gelding, Jack E Boy, a lot, and she explains that’s his barn name and his show name. She also has a Halter mare named Snickers, also known as KR Xfiniti, she has shown for three years as of this year.
After the Halter classes are over, Georgia is far from done, as she has two horses to ride: Lazy Illusion and Lukes Like Money. As one might imagine, she’s very excited, and rightly so! Good luck to Georgia at the remainder of the AQHYA World Championship Show!
