While some enjoyed backyard barbecues and pool parties over Memorial Day weekend, diehard AQHA competitors headed to Lake St. Louis, Missouri for the 2017 Gateway Classic.
With six full shows, the return of Hunter classes, the addition of Versatility Ranch Horse classes, outstanding prizes, and the Solid Gold Futurity making its debut, it was a not-to-be-missed event. Judges for the show were Sissy Anderson, Dean Bogart, Glenn Wells, Gretchen Mathes, Michelle Tidwell, Robert Dehn, Gene Parker, Steve Ferguson, and John Shepard.
According to Mark Harrell Horse Shows, entries were up more than 1,100 over last year’s event, totaling more than 6,000 entries across all divisions! 150 of those competitors, those who received circuit champion status, received a pair of Justin Boots.
Check out some of the largest class sizes of the show:
The Solid Gold Futurity was a huge hit awarding competitors with over $60,000. Stay tuned for complete results from the Futurity coming today right here on EquineChronicle.com.
