A very special event took place yesterday at the 2015 Worldwide Paint Horse Congress that’s currently underway in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Buechler Limited Series was created in honor of the late Beth Buechler, a longtime APHA exhibitor who passed away due to cancer in September of 2013.

Both Beth and her husband Jim have been involved in the Paint Horse industry for the past 40 years. Towards the end of her illness, the 2013 Paint Horse Congress was the last show Beth was able to attend. This was the second year these special limited classes were held at the Paint Horse Congress.

In order to participate in these classes, exhibitors and horses couldn’t have won an APHA, AQHA, Quarter Horse Congress, ApHC World or Reserve World Championship during the past five years in the discipline they showed in. Also, horses couldn’t have won more than $2,500 or more as of January 1, 2015. Limited non pro riders’ lifetime NSBA earnings couldn’t exceed $5,000, and open limited riders’ lifetime NSBA earnings couldn’t exceed $15,000.

There were plenty of the incredible prizes awarded during the series like Phil Harris work saddles, a Pessoa English Saddle, an Elite Western Saddle, trophies, neck ribbons, and amazing gifts from class sponsors like a Showmark Deluxe Bridle, Show & Tell Saddle Blankets, Cowboy Couture saddle racks, buckle boxes, hat gift certificates, a 1/2 price breeding to APHA stallion John Simon, and much more.

FullSizeRender-14Winning the Limited Open Trail with 17 entries was Jenna Gibbs with Miss Hottie. Coming in second was Chad Christensen with Sharp Dressed Zippo. Third place was Arturo Maestas with Endless Sensation.

Madison Mykolaitis returned for the Limited Non Pro Trail aboard Miss Hottie winning that class as well. Second place was Megan Seehafer with All That I Got. Third place was Blair Bergenson with Five Star Fancy.

Jenna Gibbs was named the champion with Noterized in the Limited Hunter Under Saddle 4 and Under class. Second place was Seth Fender with Only In A Fairytale. Third place was Theresa Martz with Never Say Too Fancy.

Maggie Griffin rode Sudenly Sophisticated to win the Limited Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle 4 and Under class. Leona Martz was second with Never Say Too Fancy.

Terry Harms rode Miss Mesmerized to win the Non Pro Green 4 and Over Western Pleasure. Second place was Leona Martz with Nodoubt Ima Gentleman.

The Limited 2 and 3-year-old Western Pleasure was won by Jenna Gibbs with Imagine Mea Hotrod. Second place was James Saubolle with Im Johnny Cash.

The Non Pro Limited Western Pleasure was won by Callie Foster with Imagine Mea Hotrod. Second place was Alexis Eldridge with Huntin An Invitation.
