Tampa, Fla. – Feb. 20, 2018 – The Florida Gold Coast Quarter Horse Circuit, riding a new wave of popularity that in 2016 saw a dramatic increase of more than 3,600 entries, ended its 2017 season with another sensational event at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center at the Florida State Fairgrounds Dec. 28-31, 2017.

In 2016, the Florida Gold Coast Quarter Horse Circuit was named one of the top 10 American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) shows in the country, moving up from the top 15 in 2015. Following the 2017 event, the Florida Gold Coast Quarter Horse Circuit is proud to announce it has earned the distinction of being named the sixth ranked AQHA show in the country.

Top Quarter Horses and exhibitors traveled from Maine to California, many for the first time, to compete in this renowned event in 2017, which offered a new and expanded schedule of classes as well as more leveling in the trail classes, allowing trainers and exhibitors to bring an additional horse or two.

CaliendoUnder the direction and show management services of An Equine Production, the 2017 Florida Gold Coast Quarter Horse Circuit welcomed more than 8,300 AQHA entries from coast to coast – up by more than 450 AQHA entries from 2016 and 2,252 from 2015. With the addition of National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA) and non-AQHA entries, the show posted an outstanding total of 11,000 entries in 2017.

The four-day competition was highlighted by beautiful weather at a superb facility and offered competitors the opportunity to earn year-end points as well as phenomenal awards.

Each year, the Florida Gold Coast Quarter Horse Circuit consistently continues to improve and grow thanks to its loyal and supportive sponsors, staff and exhibitors.

In addition to being the perfect place to welcome in the new year, exhibitors in 2018 can look forward to continued improvements to the all-weather footing and drainage systems in all of the outdoor rings at the Florida State Fairgrounds, ensuring perfect footing no matter the conditions. The Florida Gold Coast Quarter Horse Circuit looks forward to welcoming exhibitors, new and old, at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center once again in 2018!
