The Horseman’s Quarter Horse Association of Georgia Stock Show kicked off the first of two weekends of competition in Conyers, Georgia in spectacular fashion with a total of 4,600 entries across all divisions and all judges. The April 7-10th event hosted five complete shows with Garth Gooding, Shaun Duley-Gloude, Tyler Crouse, Beckey Schooler, and Suzy Jeane officiating.
In addition to a new schedule, location, and partnership with the Pro-Am Circuit, this event had a variety of NSBA futurity classes like the $1,000 3-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure, $1,000 3-Year-Old Ltd. Open Western Pleasure, Jackpot Green, Junior, and Senior Trail, $2,500 to the winner of the Green Western Pleasure Stakes and $1,000 bonus to the highest placing limited rider, and much more.
The winner of the Green Western Pleasure Stakes and $2,500 was Jay Starnes with Million To 1 for Nettie Olsen. Second was Cleve Wells with Mister White for Linda Ball Sargent, winning $480. Third was Cole Baker with KM Can’t Touch This, winning $360 for Tammy Freilich. Fourth was Rusty Green with Florida Georgia Line, winning $240 for Ruth Marie Rowe. Fifth was Jason English with Krymsun Sweet Talker, winning $120 for Michael Rapp.
Winning the Green Senior Trail Jackpot was Michael Colvin with Unequaled Invitation for Searidge Farms, winning $159.50. Second was Dustin Milsap with I Want U To Want Me, winning $119.63 for Kaitlyn Crane. Third was Cody Campbell with Ok Ima Cowboy, winning $79.75 for Angie Schmeck. Fourth was Rob Meneely with Lopin Like Lexus, winning $39.88 for Ana Cramer. Fifth was Pam Duer with O No Not Again.
The winner of the Green Junior Trail Jackpot was Sheala Peters with Code For A Goodtime, wining $176.50 for Robert Wingo. Second was Nick Mayabb with Feeling Lazy, winning $132.38 for Brian and Angela Stanhope. Third was Glenn Wells with Zip N Loper, winning $88.25 for Ora Sue Nagy. Fourth was Nick Mayabb with One Hot Bay B, winning $44.13 for Killian Mullen. Fifth was Jonathan Himes with Happens Tobe Invited for Alaina Smith.
The Champion in the Junior Trail Jackpot was Sheala Peters with Code For A Goodtime, winning $142.50. Second was Patty Vatterott with A Soxy Dream for Angela Wade, winning $106.88. Third was Nick Mayabb with Feeling Lazy, winning $71.25. Fourth was Clint Ainsworth with She’s Willy Awesome for Janice Warford, winning $35.63. Fifth was Glenn Wells with Zip N Loper.
Winning the Senior Trail Jackpot was Patty Vatterott with PF Put It N Park for Debra Craig, winning $202. Second was Colton Lasusa with Bettin Im Best, winning $151.50 for Christina Sakalas. Third was Michael Colvin with Unequaled Invitation, winning $101. Fourth was Cody Campbell with A Chrome Cookie, winning $50.50 for Angie Schmeck. Fifth was Michael Colvin with The Hot Intern for Phillip Roos.
Winning the 3-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure was Nick Mayabb with Best But Better for Steve and Cindy Durham, taking home $670. The Reserve Champion was Clay Arrington with Get Radical in My RV for Ronnie Kent, winning $502.50. Tying for third was Rusty Green with Im Really Classie for Stanley and Susan Scott and Sean Knowles with Expect A Great Ride for Nancy Roth, both receiving $251.25. Fifth was Kelby Hutchinson with Why Don’t U Kiss This for Becky Durrett. The Limited division champion was Sean Knowles with Expect A Great Ride. Second was Kelby Hutchinson with Why Don’t U Kiss This. Third was Carmen Mayabb with KM Flat Out The Best.

Coming up next is the Pro-Am Circuit that is already underway and will continue through April 15th with judges Chad Evans, Robin Frid, Brad Kearns, Jennifer Leckey, and Pam Scott. With highlights including $5,000 to the winner of the Kim Rich Memorial Western Pleasure and new Versatility Ranch horse high points, it’s only expected that the impressive entry counts will rise.
