22-year-old Betsy Juette and her horse “Frankie” have been a team for one year this October. He was purchased as a three-year-old last year at the All American Quarter Horse Congress. This year at the Congress, Betsy and Frankie placed eighth in Amateur Hunter Under Saddle. This is her first World Championship title in either breed.
In addition to his slow, lofty movement, Betsy loves Frankie’s easygoing demeanor and sweet personality. “Frankie isn’t a big thinker,” she says. “He’s really sweet, and he has the easiest canter to ride. It’s really smooth. You could canter for ages. He’s mellow and willing to do whatever you ask him to do, which is a good thing to have in a horse.”
Looking forward to 2016, Betsy is excited to add Showmanship and Western Riding to their lineup of classes.
In the Masters Amateur Junior Hunter Under Saddle Tracy Hull rode Big Ones Only to be named the World Champion. The Reserve World Champion was Linda Rice with I’m Real Sensational.
