According to Mark Harrell Horse Shows, the GQHA Pro-Am Circuit received a tremendous response this year with entry counts up over last year. The four judge event took place April 14-16 in Conyers, GA. and was judged by Tracy Willis, Brendan Brown, Cindy Rucker, and Kendra Weis.
The main event took place on Saturday when $4,500 was awarded to the winner of the Kim Rich Memorial Green Western Pleasure. Winning the class was Cole Baker with Will Be A Good Chip for owner Tammy Freilich. The Reserve Champion was Jason English with Gone Viral for Debbie Tieman. Third was Jennifer Stein with Only U for Donna Grosse. Fourth place was Nick Mayabb with She’s Willy Awesome for Barbara Williams. Fifth place was Rebecca Spellman with Arm Kandy for Helmut Lekschas.
Sixth was Chase Barnes with Well Oiled Machine for Jennifer Stein. Seventh was Elizabeth Baker with Strutin My Assets for Tammy Freilich. Eighth was Jenny Baker with Hot Chippin Charlie for Brenda Baker. Ninth was Jamie Murrow with Mommadidnraisenofool for Kimberly Kearns. Tenth was Martin Doustou with Zippin Pistol Goodbar for Ken Mullen.
Eleventh place was John Kunkle with Colorfully Hot for Sarah Kunkle. Twelfth was Tyler Achtenhagen with Hott N Lazy for Garcia Quarter Horses. Thirteenth place was Rande Pittman with Keepin All The Blues for Eric Turner.
Because it was Easter weekend, bright and early on Sunday morning at 7:00 am, competitors enjoyed an Easter service and a breakfast at 7:30, sponsored by Maggie Bellville. Following Halter classes, the tiniest of exhibitors had loads of fun with an Easter egg hunt for age categories of 4 and under, 5-8, and 9-12.
