The 2019 mare by No Doubt Im Lazy and out of Shes On Holiday has been in the Gil Galyean Quarter Horses program since she was a two-year-old, first winning Reserve in the Coughlin 2-Year-Old Maiden Western Pleasure at the 2021 All American Quarter Horse Congress with Gil Galyean.

Then Gil and his wife Becky purchased her, and Becky and “Chanel” earned a Reserve Championship title in the 3 Year Old Non Pro Western Pleasure at the 2022 All American Quarter Horse Congress. They followed that success with a Reserve World Championship in the L3 Non Pro 3 Year Old Western Pleasure at the 2022 AQHA World Championship Show.

Gil says they know Chanel well and they’ve always liked the beautiful mare with great conformation and a big, kind eye, and he explains that Chanel looks to be a really good fit with Robbie Herman.  “We’ve been trying to find him a horse to take the next step up and become more competitive,” he says.  “He’s committed to putting the effort out to improve his skills, and we’re really looking forward to it.”

Also, Gil explains that Chanel has the potential, with her pedigree and show record, to be a great broodmare for Robbie as well.  They plan on hitting some shows this spring, beginning with larger shows like The Madness.

“Robbie is a great guy to work for, and we’re very optimistic about them together,” says Gil.  “We really enjoy and appreciate the opportunity to work for Robbie.”

Without a doubt, Robbie and his family are extremely excited for the opportunity to be part of Chanel’s journey.  “She’s a very special mare and I have really enjoyed watching her over the last couple years,” explains Robbie.  “I’m looking forward to seeing my daughter, Caroline, on her as well as getting her in the show pen myself.”

Congratulations to the entire Herman family and we look forward to watching this new team!
