Deanna Green and Bestseatnthehouse Win 2015 AQHYA Western Pleasure

After her big win last week in Western Riding, Deanna Green found herself in the winner’s circle once again at the 2015 AQHA Youth World Show. This time, she piloted Bestseatnthehouse, a five-year-old mare by RL Best of Sudden and out of Invited Always.

Green showed “Jodi” last year in 3-Year-Old Non Pro Western Pleasure futurity classes and just started showing in Youth Western Pleasure in March. Despite her win earlier this week and success in other classes with Blazenmytroublesaway, Green still felt the nerves going into the finals this afternoon.

“I was so nervous,” she says. “I felt like after all my pattern classes it wouldn’t be as stressful to go around in a circle, but it was just as scary!”

For those watching from the rail, however, Green and Jodi appeared to be a cool, calm, and collected team as they showed off the rail for the majority of the class.

“I love that I have so much control and you can show her wherever you want to,” she says. “I wanted to showcase that I can show her both on the rail and off the rail. She’s so soft to lope. You can feel her legs firing underneath you. It’s pretty crazy. Also, I really like extending the trot.”

Green found herself in the winner’s circle alongside a fellow Green Team barn mate, Matthew Labrie, who showed The Party Starts Now to a Reserve World Champion finish in what was his last year in the youth division.

“That was awesome!” she says. “We never would’ve thought that could happen. It’s crazy. I’m so happy for him. He works really hard.”

Now, Green, “Buttercup,” and “Jodi” are all headed to Tulsa, Oklahoma for the NSBA World Championship Show, with their two golden trophies in tow. Before she heads out, there are a few special people she’d like to thank.

“I can’t thank Alexandra Chavez and Katie Green enough,” she says. “I want to thank Alex for letting me show her horse this year and Katie for working so hard to prepare her for me. Also, I want to thank my family and friends.”
