Cropout Paints Have Lower Registration Rates in 2015

In an exciting move for 2015 that will benefit breeders and owners of older Paint Horses, a number of APHA registration fees have been reduced—read the full news release here. Headlining those reduced fees are lower fees for cropout Paints, and APHA wants to spread the word to owners of these colorful horses who are now eligible for APHA registration.
Cropout Paints—those horses who have Quarter Horse or Thoroughbred lineage, but were born with white-splashed coats—have long been a valuable part of APHA. Since the repeal of the “One Paint-Parent” rule in 2012, these horses of color are once again eligible for APHA registration, provided they meet color requirements outlined in Rule RG-070 in the Official APHA Rule Book.
Beginning January 1, 2015, registration fees for cropouts have been slashed up to 85 percent for those horses that are yearlings or older. Registration fees for cropout horses are as follows:
- Within 90 days of foaling or June 30 of the year foaled, whichever is later: $70 for APHA members online ($85 for members via traditional mail or $170 for non-members)
- July 1 – September 30 of the year foaled: $80 for members online ($95 for members via mail or $190 for non-members)
- October 1 – December 31 of the year foaled: $95 for members online ($110 for members via mail or $220 for non-members)
- Yearlings & Older: $150 for members online ($165 for members via mail or $265 for non-members)
APHA members who complete their foals’ registrations online—cropouts, solid Paint-bred and Regular Registry foals alike—save the most money on their registration fees. Need to join APHA to save that extra dough? Just visit join.apha.com or take care of it during the registration process.
