According to The Salt Lake Tribune, a trial has begun this week concerning the dehydration death of ten horses in July of 2014. The jury trial, which began on Tuesday, will seek to determine whether the deaths were the result of negligence or an accident.
The man being charged with 11 counts of class c misdemeanor animal cruelty is 40-year-old Shamus Josef Haws, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
