AQHA judge and Professional Horseman James G. “Whizzer” Baker of Sumterville, Florida, died recently. Baker, 62, had been fighting ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease) for the past few years. While there will be no funeral, plans are pending for a celebration of Baker’s life. He is survived by his wife, Kathi.
The Bakers own and operate Windcatcher Ranch and Stallion Station in Sumterville, as well as Four Winds West, an equine special event management and production company.
In addition to serving as an AQHA judge for many years, Baker was currently serving on the AQHA Recreational Riding Committee.

Don Mundy died December 20, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, William E. Mundy and Willie Mae Mundy, and sister Patricia Mundy Lazenby.
Don leaves his best friend and loving wife of over 30 years, AQHA Professional Horsewoman Karen Evans Mundy, his brother Charles Ray Mundy, sister-in-law Marcia Foster Mundy, nephews Russell and Lee Mundy, his sister Betty Jo Mundy Smith and many more beloved nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
Don graduated from Madison High School and attended Middle Tennessee State University and University of Tennessee-Knoxville. He worked for many years in his family’s business, Mundy Builders. And most recently as partner with his wife in Mundy Quarter Horses.
Don deeply loved his wife, family and their puppy children, “Mattie” and “Carley.” He was a kind soul who always made people laugh and was always upbeat with a smile on his face. Don will be deeply missed by everyone that had the fortune to know him.
