NRHA press release by: Carol Trimmer – The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Board of Directors approved the induction of Colleen McQuay into the NRHA Hall of Fame at their February meeting in Oklahoma. Colleen will join her husband, Tim, and daughter, Mandy McCutcheon, who preceded her into the elite group. As the matriarch of one of Reining’s first families, she has supported her husband and daughter to many accomplishments.

The NRHA Hall of Fame is reserved for those people and horses who have impacted NRHA and the sport of Reining in a positive and profound way with emphasis placed on their unselfish contribution(s) to the Association rather than on their personal accomplishments. It goes without saying that Colleen’s contributions have been industry changing and involved horse show production and management as well as conception or implementation of many programs that changed the face and scope of NRHA.

Her touch is evident in many of today’s shows. She is one of the most respected show managers in the reining industry, bringing her enthusiasm, knowledge, work ethic, and energy to many major events. In addition, Colleen has unselfishly served on the NRHA Executive Board and many committees. She is currently a Distinguished Director for the Reining Horse Sports Foundation, NRHA’s supporting charitable organization established specifically for enthusiasts in an effort to develop and enhance the sport of Reining worldwide.

Induction into the NRHA Hall of Fame is a means of honoring the members whose efforts NRHA could not exist without, and is not intended to merely congratulate people for being successful competitors, breeders, etc.

NRHA is extremely proud to introduce and congratulate the 2013 Hall of Fame inductee, Colleen McQuay. The NRHA Hall of Fame is one of the five core programs under the Reining Horse Sports Foundation (RHSF), a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and enhancing the sport of Reining worldwide. The RHSF is committed to carrying the sport onward through five core programs: Youth, Dale Wilkinson Memorial Crisis Fund, Hall of Fame, International Development, and Research & Education. For further information about the Foundation, contact rhsf@nrha.com or (405) 946-7400, ext. 137, or visit the RHSF website at rhsf.com.
