Continue reading …The equine industry has lost a valuable proponent. Gilbert Arevalo Sr. of Loranger, Louisiana, passed away at Garden Park Medical Center in Gulfport on June 21 at 62. He was born on December 2, 1957, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Arevalo grew up in Gretna, Louisiana, and graduated from West Jefferson High School. In 1984, he and wife Della moved to the north side of the lake and eventually settled in Loranger with their children.

As a result, she will not be able to attend the AQHA Youth World Show this fall to watch her daughter, Samantha, compete with Beamer. So, her barn crew decided to make signs, decorate the truck, deck out Beamer, and parade through her neighborhood in McKinney, Texas, much to the delight of local residents.

Joetta Bell would win AQHA World Championship titles in Amateur Western Pleasure, Amateur Showmanship, and Amateur Western Riding, as well as Reserve World Champion titles in Western Pleasure and Western Riding with the mare. Shane Dowdy also showed the mare to numerous successes in Senior Western Pleasure, adding an Open AQHA World Championship in 2004. In all, Sweet Talkin Jeannie would earn more than 1,400 AQHA points and $12,594.58 in NSBA earnings.

Continue reading …“Yesterday, I had the FUNNIEST bloopers happen during a photo shoot. We got bombarded by chickens! While trying to figure out how to get the horse’s ears up, I asked my assistant to pick up some gravel and see if that would get the horses attention. Within seconds the chickens flocked over thinking it was food. We definitely had a good laugh about it.”
Continue reading …“They’ve had big rocks, bricks, and water balloons filled with urine thrown at them and people screaming at them. They’ve had Molotov cocktails and firecrackers thrown at them. They are standing on cement for 15 hours a day, just like the officers are. The most tragic thing is the look in their eyes when you walk in their stalls. They are listless. Like droids… machines. As a horse person, it is gut wrenching.”
