Odle is a freshman at South Plains College in Lleveland, Texas where she competes in the collegiate rodeo southwest region in barrel racing, breakaway roping, and team roping. She first learned of the contest through social media and was encouraged by her mother to enter.

Sellers were given the option to place reserve prices on their consignments or to require seller confirmation of the final price, which gave them 24 hours to accept or deny the final bid. When it was all said and done, three horses were sold with a sale average of $4,900*. The sale yielded a gross income of $58,334*—nearly $29,000 of which goes right back into the Farnam Stakes purses in 2017.

“More than 80 yearlings are paid into the Sale Stakes, so the estimated purse for the 2017 classes should be in excess of $60,000. Open and Non Pro divisions will be held for 2 year-old Western Pleasure horses. The purse will be pro-rated based on the number of entries in each division.”
