As the owner of Winning Couture, Debbie Hodde was busy working her booth at the Arizona Sun Circuit this winter while her trainer, Beth Case, was frantically trying to reach her by phone. After four missed calls, Case took it upon herself to run to Hodde’s booth and share the exciting news. Hodde’s horse, Couture Blue Genes, had been named the NSBA Horse of the Year.

$89,500 is the purse for the third annual Western Pleasure Sale Stakes class, which includes $10,000 for limited riders added by OQHA. There will be Open and Non Pro divisions with the purse being prorated based on the number of entries showing. The 2019 entries will compete for the purse money, titles, and their place on the Vic Clark Perpetual trophies.

Congratulations Appaloosa Youth World and Nationals Overall Champions!

There was no shortage of Appaloosa versatility exhibited as open and non-pros participated in over 160 classes during the first week in Fort Worth. The show kicked off with cattle events, and, over the course of the show, horses and exhibitors competed in everything from Ranch to Halter to Hunter Under Saddle classes, all vying for coveted National Championship titles.

Little Buckeye Wraps With Entry Increase Over 2018

For the first time, The Buckeye Horse Show has been split apart into two events- The Little Buckeye and The BWHA Classic. For many years, The Buckeye was the combination of the Little Buckeye and Buckeye Classic, by way of a partnership between the BWHA (Buckeye Western Horse Association) and OAQHA (Ohio Amateur Quarter Horse Association). This year, the clubs made the joint decision to hold two separate shows to allow the associations to better focus on their individual goals for the events.
