Countries select teams of four riders and an alternate to compete in the Youth World Games. Representatives from each team compete in horsemanship, hunt-seat equitation, showmanship and trail. Volunteer horses are drawn at random and riders have only 30-40 minutes to become acquainted with their mount before competing in their respective class.

Earlier this month, we learned that APHA will be introducing a new event in 2014 that will take place in conjunction with the AjPHA Youth World Championship Show, National Appaloosa Show, and World Championship Appaloosa Youth Show.

The Florida Paint Horse Club is proud to present their Memorial Day Mane Event with a 4 judge Paint/Pinto show May 24-25 and a 2 judge Paint Amateur/Youth show May 26th at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Florida.

Since its inception in 1994 Equine Affaire has become the nation’s “Mecca” for horse-related education, shopping, networking, entertainment, exploration, hanging out with fellow horse people, and immersion in all things equine. Equine Affaire has attracted more than 100,000 horse enthusiasts to Columbus over the four days of the event.

Currently, APHA has 13 standing committees—each of which is comprised of members, an Executive Committee liaison and a staff liaison. These committees are vital to provide input and suggestions about issues facing the organization and ways to help it prosper.

AQHA has established a Political Action Committee with the goal of educating members of Congress about the size and scope of the American Quarter Horse industry. The PAC is a campaigning method that is funded only by donations.

The East Coast Halter Futurity will celebrate its inaugural show on September 6, 2014 at the Dream Horse Park in New Jersey. Judges for the event will be Linda Pigg, Greg Holden, and Ronald Stratton.
