Secondly, in a move to help Regional Show Managers, the Board, at my urging, waived two rule restrictions for judges. For shows impacted by the highly contagious COVID-19 outbreak, Regional Show Managers can use the same judges in 2020 that they used in 2019. What’s more, we’ve waived the rule which prohibits judges from working two shows within 200 miles of each other during any 30-day period.

AjPHA is excited to announce the 2020–2021 AjPHA National Directors. These dedicated individuals serve the AjPHA by directing association business, providing valuable input on ways to grow AjPHA and attract new youth to the program. National directors meet at the Youth Leadership Conference and the AjPHA National Convention, which takes place in conjunction with the AjPHA World Championship Show in Fort Worth, Texas.

In light of the growing developments, AQHA will temporarily close to walk-in customers to protect the health and safety of AQHA customers, staff and the local community. AQHA Headquarters will be closed to walk-in customers beginning Thursday, March 19. Customers can utilize the drop box located in front of the AQHA Headquarters building, at the bottom of the steps near the bronze statue of Wimpy P-1 to drop off their work during this time in Amarillo.

As with the ongoing Covid-19 situation, the GQHA and the HQGA associations, along with the GIHP, have made the decision to cancel the upcoming event known as the Georgia On My Mind shows. We were hopeful that it might happen, but the safety of our friends, exhibitors, and horses come first. Any stall or RV funds that have been deposited will be funded within 3 weeks if not sooner. Any checks received and not deposited will be destroyed. Your monies will be refunded.

The newly appointed Executive Committee member is James “Jim” Hunt of Faith, South Dakota. Hunt will join AQHA President F.E. “Butch” Wise of El Reno, Oklahoma; First Vice President Norman Luba of Louisville, Kentucky, Second Vice President Dr. Scott Myers of Sharon Center, Ohio; and Executive Committee Member Kenneth Banks of Schulenburg, Texas.

At the present time, all entry deadlines for Pinto World Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma remain unchanged. The PWC is still scheduled to go on unless a federal, state, or county government tells us we cannot have the show. We will make announcements if, and when, changes become necessary.
