Breeders’ Trust Stakes Modifications Announced for 2021 APHA World Show and Beyond

The APHA World Show’s move to summer dates in 2021 and beyond spurred several modifications to this top pleasure stakes program. Starting in 2021, the Breeders’ Trust Pleasure Stakes classes will exclusively be offered for 3-year-old horses, offering 3-Year-Old Maiden Horse Stake classes.

Twelve Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) Western High-Point Open riders took to the world stage in the IHSA Invitational Class held Sept. 29, during the American Paint Horse Association (APHA) World Championship Horse Show in Fort Worth, Texas. Nigel Lancaster from Hilliard, Ohio, came away as champion after showcasing his skills in both the reining and horsemanship phases.

Red Hot N Stylish is now the only horse to have won the Scarlet Print Award four times; the award is presented to a mare who wins single-year world championships in Open, Amateur and Youth halter classes.

For the past two years, the Awards Celebration, which recognizes the previous year’s high-point exhibitors and professionals of the year, has been held at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City during the AQHA World Championship Show.

In a historic move, the ApHC Board of Directors voted today to open its doors to members of the Pony of Americas Club (POAC) to compete at the Appaloosa World and National Championship Shows beginning in 2021. The Board is also encouraging all of its Regional Clubs to offer classes, as well, as part of its newly-adopted Small Horse Program.
