And the winner is… Casey Willis riding KM Weknowsheshot for owner Masterson Farms, LLC of Somerville, TN. Judges Jon Barry, Mike Hawkins, Robin Frid, and Scott Neuman determined Willis and his equine partner to be the winning entry out of a field of 13 competitors this afternoon in the Equine Chronicle Novice Horse 3 and Over Western Pleasure slot class at the Southern Ohio Quarter Horse Association Madness. He received a check for $15,000 for his efforts!
The Reserve Champion was Cody Parrish and For Your Eyez Only for owners Brent and Kate Bamford. Parrish was also named the Limited Champion and Intermediate Champion. There was a tie broken for second and third; both received $6,250. Placing third was Cleve Wells with Colman for Gerald Kimmel. Fourth place was Gil Galyean aboard Show Gurl for Bill and Susan Blackburn-Baskin. There was a tie broken for fourth and fifth; both received $3,250. Fifth place was Brian Cox with Loping Radical for Allen and Marilyn Wade.
Sixth place was Shannon Curl aboard Ready Set Lope for Debby Brehm; this team received $2,500. Seventh place was Colten Andrews with Natural Loper for Cynthia Roth; this team received $2,000. Andrews was also the Reserve Limited Rider and Reserve Intermediate Rider. Eighth place was Cole Baker with Only In My Heart for Olivia Hoecker; this team received $1,500. Ninth place was Brian Baker with The Extreme Machine for Nick Weiss.
Tenth place was Dustin Milsap with Suddenly Moonlite for Steve and Cindy Durham. There was a tie for tenth and eleventh place. Eleventh place was Ashley Lakins and Extremely Good Stuff for Russell Louderback. Twelfth place was Zach Favorite with Sweet Lil Cowboy for Michelle Favorite. There was a tie for twelfth and thirteenth place. Thirteenth place was Clint Collingsworth with One Man Short for Kimberly Haines.
