Before she ever set foot in an arena, five-year-old Caroline Cavallo’s determination and passion that would make her such a success in the show pen were obvious. She came home from kindergarten one day after learning a friend had taken a riding lesson and begged her mom, Gail, to let her do the same. Her mom agreed and a few months later, entirely infected with the horse bug, Caroline made her debut in the show pen aboard her trusted pony, Stormy.
Fast-forward 27 years and she’s an NSBA World Champion in both Amateur Hunter Under Saddle and Amateur Trail; and she is the owner of the 2023 AQHA Superhorse.
“Once was all it took to learn that I loved riding,” Caroline recalls, explaining she’d be at the barn as much as she could as a kid–every single night after school and most weekends.
After her walk-trot debut with Stormy, she started showing on the hunter circuit, and by the time she was in high school the family found a Quarter Horse for her to show in Children’s Hunters and AQHA Working Hunters. With that purchase came more exposure to the Hunter Under Saddle and All-Around events AQHA shows offered, and Caroline’s interest was piqued.
