Little Buckeye wrap up: The Little Buckeye wrapped up on Sunday afternoon. The numbers were great! The novice youth and youth classes were huge with most being nine point classes. It’s a great thing to see so many youth showing here.

Before the Buckeye Classic, we’re enjoying two off days so we are taking advantage of them by relaxing and catching up on some sleep as I’m sure many others are doing. On Tuesday, there is a group going to King’s Island, so that should be fun!

Wednesday is the first day of showing for the Buckeye Classic and it gets started with the futurity classes and following that is trail.

Day 1: Day 1 of the Little Buckeye was as success! Everyone was picking up their free exhibitor t-shirts and enjoying snacks, water, and even free pizza for lunch. I had a busy morning getting my Trail horses ready, as did everyone else, so I didn’t get as many pictures, but I will make up for it on Saturday. We had great numbers for Trail with four point amateur and youth, an eight point green, and nice novice classes. Saturday starts off with Showmanship and there looks to be more great numbers.

Show Kickoff:

The 2016 Buckeye Classic is, once again, looking to be a great show. With $150,000 in free entries since 2013, this show brings in exhibitors from 30+ states, Canada, England, and Australia.

I talked with Justin Billings, who is checking people in their stalls (and part of making this show great) said there was a 15% increase from last year in the number of stalls sold. This is my third year to come and it never disappoints. We get to show with great numbers, competition, and AN AMAZING show staff who goes above and beyond to make The Buckeye great.

It’s an amazing place with plenty arenas to ride in and a covered walkway that connects most stalls to the main arena. As a first timer to this facility, I’m trying not to get lost…

Friday is our first day of showing for the Little Buckeye and we start with trail at noon. Best of luck to everyone showing!

Stay tuned for more from Hayley later on in the show and a youth blog coming soon from Alexia and Olivia Tordoff.
